MICHAEL R. MOORE
BEADLE COUNTY STATE'S ATTORNEY

Michael Moore is a 1991 graduate of Ohio Dominican College with a BA in History, and a 1994 graduate of The University of South Dakota School Of Law. He has been a prosecutor with the Beadle County State’s Attorneys Office in Huron, South Dakota since 1994, where he started as a Deputy State’s Attorney. He was elected to the State’s Attorney position in 1996. He prosecutes felony, misdemeanors and juvenile crime in Beadle County and the office also assists law enforcement in the investigation of crimes in Beadle County. Mr. Moore also handles all civil matters for Beadle County. Mr. Moore has created prosecution policies and drafted legislation and has applied for and administered federal grant funds to prosecute violent crimes against women and maintain juvenile accountability programs. Mr. Moore also serves as president of the National District Attorneys Association.

DEPUTY STATE'S ATTORNEY

Dan graduated from the University of South Dakota School of Law in May, 2013 and has been working the State's Attorney's office October of 2013. He serves as deputy state's attorney and prosecutes most magistrate and circuit court matters. 

 

TRICIA MANOLIS

LEGAL ASSISTANT

Tricia has a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and elementary education and started working in the State's Attorny's office in February 2006 as a victim/witness coordinator. In 2013 she took the position of legal assistant and now sets up new case files and handles all magistrate court matters. 

 

SARA NEWMAN

VICTIM/WITNESS COORDINATOR 

Sara serves as the victim/witness coordinator and joined the State's Attorney's office in June of 2013. As the vicmtim/witness coordinator, she works with the victim/witness assistance program which is designed to provide victims/witnesses with services while they are involved with the criminal justice system. Sara works with the victim by explaining how the criminal justice system operates, more specifically the victim's rights and responsibillities as victim/witness cooperation is essential in holding the offender accountable for their crimes. 

 

TRAVIS IVERSEN

THE INTERN

Travis grew up in Huron and graduated from HHS in 2009 and went on to study history at the University of South Dakota. He completed his undergraduate degree in 2013 and is now studying law at the University of South Dakota School of Law and is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2016. Currently Travis is interning for the Beadle County State's Attorney's office and is tasked with writing certain documents and conducting legal research. He is also one of the admins on this website. 

 

CHAYA SIDES

THE OTHER INTERN

Chaya grew up in Huron and graduated with honors from HHS in 2012. She now is majoring in Mass Communications at the University of South Dakota and is scheduled to graduate in the spring of 2016. This is her second year as an intern in the State's Attorney's office and her duties consist of assisting the legal assistants. 

 

MAEGAN FENSKE

LEGAL ASSISTANT

Maegan has been a member of the State's Attorney's office since July of 2009. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies in 2007. As a legal assistant, she works with juvenile matters, abuse or neglect cases, circuit court, and grand jury matters.
